It was a great honour and a fantastically fun experience to be asked to give a talk, workshop and demonstration at the National Capital Puppetry Festival in America, about the history, techniques and artistic movement of Teatro Lambe Lambe.
Teatro Lambe Lambe is a form of miniature puppet theatre originating in Brazil. Fagner Gastaldon, one of PuppetSoup’s directors is an experienced Teatro Lambe Lambe artist who is originally from Brazil but has been settled in the UK for over 15 years.
We were absolutely delighted to be welcomed so warmly, to not only give the workshop at the National Capital Puppetry festival, but also to be able to take part in other talks and events through the weekend.
The weekend festival was a jam packed schedule of amazing puppeteers from around the world, all sharing their knowledge and experience of different forms of puppetry, social contexts surrounding puppetry and taking part in puppetry slams and conversations.
It was especially brilliant that PuppetSoup won a T-Shirt at the raffel, which due to postage and packaging being an issue from North America, we were given an exchange of a MEMBERSHIP to this brilliant puppetry guild.
Thank you to the National Capital Puppetry Festival for hosting this amazing event and letting us spread the word about Teatro Lambe Lambe. We look forward to working with you all again soon and expanding puppetry knowledge together!
